Types of glass
safeglas®
It is the union of two or more sheets of glass joined by Polivinil Butiral (PVB) or SentryGlas® through a process of controlled heat and pressure. It is considered a security and containment glass because although one or both glasses can break; the plastic film prevents the detachment of the glass pieces.
For installations with long-term loads, the use of SentryGlas® is recommended, which is 100 times more rigid and five times more resistant than traditional PVB as well as much more transparent. SentryGlas® can be used in large-size glass and/or with point loads, as well as in glass structures where fixing points are to be reduced, such as glass boxes and their ribs, also in façade gates in coastal areas exposed to high wind gusts and impacts caused by hurricanes/storms and on glass railings, in addition to other uses.
